DeLeon Springs is a former sugar and corn plantation from the late 1,700's located just north of Deland in Volusia County. The sugar mill from the old plantation is still there and houses a popular restaurant where you can cook your own pancakes on a built-in griddle in the middle of your table. This is a great place to take out-of-town visitors. There is also a concrete-walled swimming area, with water tempuratures at a year round 72 degrees. Canoe, kayak, and paddleboat rentals are also available to tour the spring and spring run. Best to call ahead for reservations for the Sugar Mill Restaurant as wait times can be quite long.
Due to frequent work relocations, we have worked with a significant number of realtors as both buyers and sellers in widely varying markets. Many realtors did a good job for us. One, however, clearly distinguished himself as being in a complete league of his own. That person was Doug Packard.
