SunRail is Central Florida's commuter rail system, recently opened in Spring 2014. It is designed to relieve traffic from north-south arteries, particularly I-4. Phase One connects Debary in Volusia County to Sand Lake Road in Orange County and will use existing tracks used by freight and Amtrak trains.
There are stops and stations at Sanford, Lake Mary, Longwood, Altamonte Springs, Maitland, Winter Park, Florida Hospital Oralndo, Lynx Central Bus Station, Church Street Downtown Orlando, and Orlando Regional Medical Center. Future expansions are planned north to Deland and south through Kissimmee into Poinciana.
SunRail estimates predictable commute times without traffic delays. Estimated time from Lake Mary to downtown Orlando is 32 minutes.
