Professional Teams

The Orlando Magic (NBA), Orlando Miracle (WNBA), and the Orlando Predators (Arena Football) all call Central Florida Home. Two NFL teams, the Tampa Bay Bucs and Jacksonville Jaguars are both within a two hour drive. Tampa also offers professional hockey with NHL Tampa Bay Lightning and Major League Baseball with the Tampa Bay Rays.

College Sports

The Division 1-A Central Florida Golden Knights play football at the Florida Citrus Bowl in downtown Orlando and recently joined the Mid-America Conference. UCF has an on-campus arena for basketball and an on-campus baseball stadium for its nationally ranked baseball program. Stetson University in Deland fields Division I-A baseball and basketball teams. Rollins College in Winter Park competes in baseball, basketball, and soccer at the Division II level.

MLB Spring Training

Five major league baseball teams hold their spring training in Central Florida. The Atlanta Braves train at Disney's Wide World of Sports and the Houston Astros at Kissimmee. Thousands of fans flock to Florida from late February to early April to catch "Grapefruit League" exhibition games.

NASCAR Racing

Just 45 minutes from the Orlando area, Daytona Beach hosts the Daytona 500 and Pepsi 400 stock car races at Daytona International Speedway. NASCAR calls Daytona home.

Major Sporting Events

Central Florida hosts two PGA golf tournaments, the Bay Hill Invitational and the Walt Disney World/Oldsmobile Classic. The Citrus Bowl hosts the Tangerine Bowl in December and the Florida Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1, featuring four of the nation's top college football teams. Lake County is well known for its top class triathlon races.

Youth Sports

Central Florida is home to several nationally renowned youth sports programs, including Apopka Little League (U.S. Champions in Little League World Series), Lake Mary Pop Warner football, Brown's Gymnastics (training ground of several Olympic gymnasts), and the Seminole Soccer Club (training home to the U.S. Womens World Cup Soccer Team). You can even play in an ice hockey league at the RDV Sports Complex.
