Debary Hall is a historic estate built as a hunting lodge in 1871 by Frederick Debary, a European-born wine merchant. Debary's last living heir died in 1941, at which time the state had reached over 6,000 acres. It's only ten acres today, but the 8,000 square foot Italianate mansion still stands along with the stables and a few other structures. In its heydey, Debary Hall hosted Presidents Ulysses S. Grant, Grover Cleveland, European royalty, and General William Tecumseh Sherman.
